Ingredients
  

  • 1-2 pounds cube steak
  • 1 tablespoon oil or butter
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Vegetables carrots, potatoes, onions – 1-2 cups
  • Gravy mix – 1 packet
  • Slow cooker juices – 2 cups
  • All-purpose flour – 2 tablespoons
  • Butter – 1 tablespoon

Instructions
 

  • Season cube steak with garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  • Heat oil or butter in a skillet and sear the cube steak on both sides.
  • Place the seared steak in the slow cooker.
  • Add sliced onion, minced garlic, beef broth, and dried thyme to the slow cooker.
  • Add any additional vegetables (carrots, potatoes, etc.) for a hearty meal.
  • Cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-6 hours until tender.
  • For gravy, mix slow cooker juices, flour, and butter in a saucepan.
  • Whisk until smooth, bring to a boil, then simmer until thickened.
  • Serve the steak with the gravy over mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or your preferred side.
